As profound a meaning that Ometeotl is, with it's definition transending all levels of consciousness, its based in-part on pure simplicity.  This short page isnt going to attempt to explain, in depth, the philosophy our indigenous ancestors left behind in grasping the concept of 'The Creator' , the meaning of life, and origin of man.   But rather we will demonstrate that the Language Barrier, Culture Barrier, and Motive Barrier played a more detrimental role in the subjation of our ancestors. 

Along with the lie of Human Sacrifice, our ancestors 'belief or worship' of many "gods" was a simple way to have the Church Endorse the brutality used during the murder and enslavement of our people.  Extravagant examples of human sacrifice in the thousands dramatize the propaganda and exploitation used as lies and excuses to subjugate our people.  Our ancestors homes, lands, culture, and family were violated by a savage people bent on accomplishing their manifest destiny via the destruction of our land when they invaded, the cultural genocide that unsued, and the struggle to discover what is ours. 

The Concept of Duality permeates the mindset of our ancestors.  This Duality is rooted on the simple concept of masculine and feminine energies, positive and negative, front and back, near and far, and attraction and repulsion.  This concept is based on the energy of the universe in harmony  with the cosmos.  In a state of perfect equilibrium, the concept of - that which is near and that which is far - or 'Tloque Nahuaque'  in Nahuatl is the thread that Ometeotl used to create the universe.  However, Ometeotl, Ome-dos-two; and Teotl-energy-creation- essence.  So OMETEOTL is the two energies needed for creation.  Or the Masuline and Feminine energies that created the universe.  These energies are named OMETECUHTLI and OMECIHUATL.  This represents the masuline guardian of the two energies and the feminine guardian of the two energies.  The idealogy  of polytheism is rooted in both Latin and Greek.  As stated, TEOTL, in nauhuatl means energy, creation, essence.  In Greek, DEUS - means god, in Latin THEOS or THEUS means god.  So the Priests in pursuing their religious overzealousness and convictions, not to mention poor translation skills TEOTL ws translated into meaning GOD.

THERE WERE NO GODS IN ANAHUAC. 

The concept of a 'god of the rain' is misconstrued during the translation of its word.  Tlaloc is rooted in two words.  Tlalli-Tierra-Land and Octli-Pulque-Liquor.  So the combination of these two words TLAL-tlalli and OCTLI - oc; give you the word TLALOC.   Which means the 'liquor of the earth   or more simply the RAIN.  There is no god of rain. 

Huitzilopochtli is not the god of war, or god of the sun.  HUITZIL - huitziliin - colibri - hummingbird, OPOCHMA-opochtli-izquierda, or hummingbird to the left.  HUITZILOPOCHTLI is heavily rooted in metaphor that simply stands for WILLPOWER - Fuerza de Voluntad.  Quetzalcoatl is not the plumed or winged serpent.  Snakes dont fly.  Quetzal is rooted in Precious, while Coatl is serpent of course. So Quetzalcoatl is the 'precious serpent'.    Metaphorically quetzalcoatl is not only our spinal column, and is the root for the vast wisdom and knowledge one may gain during life, but is also a specialized profession and field of study that a Tlamatinime - wise man gains after completing a lifetime of training.   A simple way to prove it would be using symantics in trying to find the exact word for god in any indigenous language.  The word for god in Nahuatl does not exist, nor does it in Mayan.
